Unfortunately, this plant rarely survives a warm spring, as it loves temperatures up to 20 ° C and humid air. And if in winter this condition can be met by putting it on a warmed loggia and spraying it every day with a spray bottle, then problems begin in spring and summer.

Another plant that can often be found on sale in large supermarkets in winter, as well as other conifers. People buy them so as not to support the sale of cut fir trees, but the problem is that any coniferous plant can hardly take root in an apartment.

The only possible option is to buy thuja and keep it on the balcony all winter and the first half of spring. In this case, you will have to adhere to the schedule of watering and spraying. In the second half of spring, it must be taken to the dacha, but not in the open air, but in some unheated room with enough light, for example, in a barn.

You also need to prepare pits for transplanting and material for sheltering seedlings in advance. They will need to be covered for the first few years of their life, as the bright spring sun can burn the delicate needles.
