It is not afraid of drafts and dust gathering on it and does not require frequent fertilization. He does not need a lot of light, so the flower can be placed in the shade. But in order for the plant to have beautiful leaves, it is worth periodically taking it out into the sun or simply placing it closer to the window.

Vitality is not the only useful property of the plant. It is able to purify the air: destroy bacteria and harmful elements. The schedule for watering sansevieria depends on the season: in summer it should be done 1 time in 10 days, in winter — 2 times a month.

2 Kalanchoe

The main thing in caring for Kalanchoe is timely watering. For it, you need to use only settled water. Overflow for the plant is detrimental, so it is better to place drainage in the pot when transplanting. Watering during the active period (spring and summer) is moderate, with the onset of cold weather — do it less often. 3 Zamioculcas

Zamioculcas is a beautiful plant with long shoots and round leaves. Among the people, another name was attached to it — «dollar tree». It will easily decorate any modern interior. Zamioculcas has almost no flowers, but a bright green tint makes up for their absence.

The plant can be placed in the shade — it is not afraid of dark corners. It does not require frequent transplants, the introduction of various fertilizers. Since Zamioculcas is a succulent, a lot of moisture accumulates in its stems. Therefore, he is able to live for some time without water. During a drought, only shoots will die, after watering, it will release new leaves and continue its life.

The plant lives for about 5-10 years, during which time it reaches 1 meter in height. Therefore, it is suitable for growing in spacious rooms.

Water it rarely, but plentifully. To do this, it is better to use warm settled water. The potting soil should dry out between waterings. In summer, you need to water quite often, but in winter it is enough to do it once a month. You can not fill the plant, otherwise it will die.

Be careful: Zamioculcas is poisonous. Therefore, it is impossible to taste its shoots and juice. And it is worth transplanting only with gloves.

four Spathiphyllum

In the people, spathiphyllum is often called «women’s happiness.» There is a sign: if a lonely girl gets this plant at home, she will soon find her happiness. It is difficult to say whether it is true or not, but the fact that the plant will bring pleasure to its owner is for sure. Spathiphyllum is undemanding and very beautiful. Almost the whole year it blooms with white inflorescences resembling calla flowers.

The plant is not afraid of dry air, so it will survive being near the air conditioner. It can live for about two weeks without watering, but then its flowers will wilt. After a portion of water, they will rise and will continue to please the owner. The only thing that the plant does not like very much is cold and draft. It is worth choosing a suitable place in the apartment, and you can easily avoid problems with its cultivation.

It should be watered as the topsoil dries out, about once every few days. Spathiphyllum requires especially frequent watering in the summer during the active period of growth. In winter, it is enough to do this once a week.

The plant contains a poison that irritates the mucous membranes. It is especially dangerous for pets: if they eat shoots, they can get severe poisoning.

5 Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is an unpretentious and very useful house plant. It is often used for medicinal and cosmetic purposes, for example, aloe juice can be used to treat burns.

The plant is very fond of the sun, easily tolerates heat. Therefore, it is worth keeping it in the brightest place in the apartment. It can go without water for weeks, so if you forget to water or go on business trips, you should take a closer look at it. For growing, any ready-made mixture for succulents is suitable.

Water the plant when the soil is dry. In summer, it is enough to do this 1-2 times a week. In winter, you can reduce watering to 1-2 times a month. A large amount of water is detrimental to the roots, so it is not worth watering too often.
