one Soak terry towels and bathrobe in salt solution

Terry cloth loses its softness and fluffiness after several washes. This is due to the fact that powder particles remain on the loops, causing them to stick together. Prepare a solution of table salt: 1 teaspoon per liter of water. Immerse already washed towels or bathrobes in it and leave it overnight (or at least 2 hours). After this, the product will only dry.

2 Add baking soda or salt when washing

When putting laundry in the washing machine, especially if it has unpleasant odors, add a little baking soda to the drum. For half a drum — about half a small glass. Baking soda will soften water and clothes and absorb strong odors from cigarettes or food. If you don’t need to get rid of them or don’t have soda on hand, you can add 3 tablespoons of salt to the drum of the machine. It will also help soften the fabric.

3 Add vinegar to the fabric softener drawer

Apple cider vinegar is added to the washing machine for several purposes at once.

• Get rid of unpleasant odors on clothes.

• Remove stains of wine, cosmetics, coffee, sweat.

• Soften the water and, accordingly, get a softer fabric after washing.

Add 50-100 ml of vinegar to the conditioner compartment. The only downside to this method is the pungent odor, but it fades as it dries. The door of the machine will also need to be left ajar so that the smell does not stagnate inside.

four Soak the fabric in a solution of ammonia

Towels that have become very hard can be soaked after washing with ammonia. One teaspoon of ammonia is added to one liter of water. After a couple of hours, the laundry should be taken out, rinsed in clean water and hung up to dry.

5 Prepare a fragrant conditioner

Fabric softener can be made independently and prepared for several washes at once. To do this, in any convenient bottle, mix half a small glass of vinegar and soda, dilute them with a liter of water and drip a little of your favorite essential oil. Shake the bottle before use to mix all the ingredients and add the liquid to the conditioner compartment.

6 Throw laundry balls into the drum of the machine

Small laundry balls are easy to find in hardware stores. Usually they are used so that the filler does not fall off in down jackets and jackets. But they can be safely thrown into the drum with each wash, especially terry products. Hitting the fabric, they will gently «fluff» its villi, making the material softer to the touch. However, this method is not suitable for delicate items that require gentle washing.

7 Add another rinse cycle and change the detergent

Most often, laundry becomes stiff due to the powder that remains on the fabric. Try switching to liquid detergents — they are easier to wash out of the material. But before that, run one rinse cycle without clothes, as the machine also needs to be cleaned of the powder remaining in it. Also, do another rinse cycle after completing the main wash.
