one Araucaria

Araucaria is an outdoor plant, but it can also be grown at home, as it tolerates room temperature quite well. A mini version of a large tree in the interior looks very colorful if planted in a small pot or a beautiful floor planter.

Araucaria needs coolness for the entire wintering period. Move it to a place where the thermometer does not rise above 16 degrees. The rest of the time, the plant will feel comfortable on a moderately lit windowsill. Araucaria needs to be watered in different ways: less during the wintering period, and plentifully from the beginning of spring to the end of autumn.

2 Cypress

Several varieties of cypress are suitable for growing at home: large-fruited, evergreen, Kashmir. This is a conservative plant, it does not like movement and environmental changes, so choose a convenient place for it right away. For example, place on a well-lit window sill but out of direct sunlight. If there is not enough light, the cypress will fade, lose its shape and begin to stretch. And from the scorching sun, the needles will crumble.

Cryptomeria grows up to two meters, so it is suitable for spacious rooms with high ceilings. The most compact variety of this plant is Japanese, it is usually grown at home. The needles of cryptomeria change color in autumn, becoming reddish or bronze. Like many conifers, this plant does not like the scorching sun — it is better to put it in a well-lit place with scattered rays.

So that the needles do not crumble, irrigate them regularly with water. In summer, cryptomeria must be watered daily, in winter — as the soil dries. So that the tree does not grow too intensively, choose a planter according to its size.

Chinese juniper feels best in an apartment. Protect it from the scorching sun and do not put it in hot places. By the way, in addition to high temperatures, the plant does not tolerate a sharp cold snap. In adverse conditions, the juniper needles begin to turn yellow and crumble. The plant is watered infrequently: two to three times a week in summer, and in winter, watering is reduced to once every seven days.

5 thuja

One of the most fragrant plants for the home is thuja. Several varieties are suitable for an apartment: for example, folded or western. Thuja feels great in places with diffused lighting and does not like direct sunlight. Planters can be placed near the battery, as the plant calmly tolerates dry air. Indoor thuja does not have to be watered often, but the soil should not remain dry for a long time.
