All the designers we interviewed unanimously agree that you should definitely not be afraid of experimenting with color. And they gave advice that you can listen to.

Anna Evdokimova also believes that bright colors can become accents against a neutral background: “Color is one of our assistants in creating an atmosphere in the house. “If you look at a bright picture and you like it, don’t be afraid to do something similar in your home,” says Natalia Shirokorad. — For starters, you can paint the walls in a bright color, because the paint is easy to change. And then add contrasts or nuances in the details.

“We are used to using neutral colors – white, beige, light gray – on the walls as a background,” says Anna Evdokimova. And consider these colors universal. But it is not necessary to build a framework in this matter. You can use any color you like. And any tone: light or dark.

5 Go for dark and deep colors

This advice is given by Natalya Shirokorad. And he recommends using dark colors in small rooms — as opposed to stereotypes.

6 Enter color with light in mind

Olga Tsurikova believes that one should not forget about the natural lighting of rooms when choosing colors for the interior.

“Do not neglect the cardinal points when planning and choosing colors, pay attention to how much daylight enters the room. If it is the north side, then warm shades will be preferable, if it is the south side, you can use a combination of cold colors. Also with artificial lighting: use neutral light. And for lighting and sconces, you can take warm (yellow) light to create an atmosphere of comfort, ”says Olga.

7 Use color to hide objects in the interior

“The growing interest in hand-made decor items and interior art (paintings, graphics, photography, sculpture) led to the opening of galleries,” notes Anna. “It gave me the opportunity to buy and integrate artwork into my home. In addition to positive emotions, a picturesque picture can also have a practical function. If your room contains furniture of different colors, and, at first glance, these items seem incompatible, the picture will be able to combine them in color into a single composition. Also, a painting can add a new color to the interior, diluting the intensity and simplicity of a monochromatic space.”

This advice is given by Olga Tsurikova: “Our main source of inspiration and strength is the world in which we live. Take a look around: how many colors you can see in nature, how amazingly crimson sunsets can be or the variety of shades of the sea, the colors of the summer or autumn forest, these are all ready-made palettes for your interiors.
