Which cuisine is better

[ad_1]

In fact, what should be taken as priority: material or price?

All sets are now beautiful, another question is how the furniture will behave in operation, especially the one that will serve in the kitchen — a complex and even contradictory object.

All four elements are present here. Here «passions» are boiling, and not only them))). Finally, this is a place where sterile cleanliness should reign, but without much effort.

The key (cost-determining) details of a kitchen set are its facade and countertop.

The first is responsible for the «picture»: he must «fit» into the interior not only in color, but also in style. That, the facade tends to lose its appearance, many people remember a year after the purchase … You can save on this part of the headset, but given some of the nuances.
The countertop is a kitchen “hard worker”, it will “puff” under the influence of your manipulations and at the same time everyone expects that it should look “one hundred percent” (oh, everything is like with people 🙂 You can’t save on this item if your kitchen is created not for reheating ready meals in the office.

In order not to be disappointed in the choice of material, I made a brief review with the maximum emphasis on the operational nuances of each of the materials under consideration (the price issue is widely represented on the Internet).

WOODEN KITCHEN — gourmet in design.

WOODEN FACADE — a classic of the kitchen «genre». For production, hardwoods are used, hence the large weight and cost.

But it’s a tree! Such a facade will serve for a long time and will ideally fit into the interior of a private house.

Durable and respectable material that can be easily restored.
Afraid of moisture changes, I do not recommend for a country house only with summer residence.

WOODEN TOP — the distant past of the kitchen and, perhaps, its future.

Once it was made of solid wood, like the facade, today it is exclusively made of typesetting boards.

The new technology made it possible to avoid warping from periodic wetting and drying.
Eco-friendly, beautiful, pleasant to the touch surface. Impregnation of mineral oil (sold in a pharmacy) will create a protective layer that repels water and grease.

Hot objects can only be placed on coasters, cut only on a kitchen board, washed only with soapy water without caustic “chemistry”. Mineral impregnation should be updated periodically.

CONCLUSION: only for neat housewives.
KITCHEN FROM LAMINATE — inexpensive and quite acceptable.

The basis of laminated furniture is chipboard (chipboard). This is the most common material for facades. Practical, inexpensive, and thanks to modern technology — and effectively.

The new generation of chipboard has become denser and more water resistant, and the formaldehyde content in it is reduced.

The face of chipboard is covered with veneer and polymers — laminate and melamine.

MELAMINE is a thin film based on cellulose, resistant to high temperatures, water and abrasion, but she is afraid of piercing and cutting objects.

LAMINATE (plastic) — a favorite of designers. Its thickness ranges from 2-4 mm to 11 mm and above. It is indifferent to temperatures (within reason), is perfectly washed and cleaned, resistant to mechanical damage.

Laminate has many faces — it will allow you to simulate different types of wood, stone, marble, ceramic tiles, fabrics.

Some are confused by its polymeric origin, but it is durable and beautiful, and its price with chipboard is 10-15% lower than the price of MDF and varnish.

And if you decide to stay on this budget option, pay attention to the edges: prefer postforming — a layer of plastic, bent under high pressure, covers not only the front part, but also the ends of the slab. In this case, they will be reliably protected from dirt and moisture, and it looks beautiful. But the ends sealed with PVC or melamine film are less reliable.

For WORKTOPS Only laminated chipboard is suitable. And it is desirable that it be monolithic slab with postforming ends. The monolith will make the working surface of your kitchen as hygienic as possible, and without postforming it will not last long.

The laminate consists of several layers of a strong base, which gives the surface wear, light and heat resistancemakes it insensitive to impacts from falling dishes, scratches, cleaning agents and other substances.

The most common damage to such countertops is swelling due to water getting under the cladding as a result of peeling off the end edges. Then it is best to replace the entire work surface.

Operating rules

  • I emphasize that all non-laminated areas must be protected with silicone sealant, especially in the places where the sink and built-in appliances are cut. In addition, it is important to wipe the water in a timely manner so that it does not penetrate the base through the seams. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to glue all exfoliated edges immediately and prevent water from entering under the plastic cladding.
  • Weak solutions of acids and alkalis, dyes, varnish and glue, scale solvents, hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate should be removed with a damp cloth at least 10-15 minutes after hitting the countertop, otherwise stains will appear.

MDF KITCHEN — designer’s favorite.

MDF board is a relatively new material produced by pressing wood dust (fine particles).

By it surpasses wood in strength, and traditional chipboard in terms of environmental friendliness. MDF is very plastic — with its appearance the idea of using curvilinear forms has become not only real, but also all-conquering.

Designers are happy to use this material for facades of complex configuration — wavy, curved rounded lines of kitchens are very popular, they look original, stylish, and the level of safety of such furniture is an order of magnitude higher.

Decorate the MDF board in different ways.

Suffice it to say that the number of colors of coating shades of this material

reaches 200 (on the RAL scale)!

The cheapest option is tinted PVC film, but do not rush to give it preference.

A kitchen made of MDF laminated with plastic today represents the most optimal solution in terms of price-quality-durability ratio.

MDF is varnished — matte (a relatively inexpensive option) or glossy (a high-gloss mirror coating is considered one of the most expensive). The cost is also affected by the number of layers of varnish — the price increases in proportion to their number.

NUANCE: glossy surfaces are very easily soiled, any touch on them leaves a mark, so weigh carefully — you are for the kitchen or the kitchen is for you.

And, finally, the most expensive technique is MDF veneering.

For WORKTOPS option with tinted PVC film and veneering suitable, but it will require great care from the hostess, because the veneer is afraid of moisture, and the film is cuts.

On the other hand, a monolithic MDF surface coated with varnish, enamel or plastic laminate will not leave anyone indifferent.

female soul.

Such a countertop is not afraid of water, temperature, or small cuts. And it looks one hundred percent, because it allows you to create any shape and even ends with thread imitation.

METAL KITCHEN — absolute.

Fashionable hi-tech gave the kitchen a «metal» face — kitchens made of polished steel and glass are very conceptual, but impractical — they require such careful and obsessive systematic care that you won’t even want to eat. Yes, they are not warm enough.

But this is a matter of taste. Brushed steel and anodized aluminum are more practical.

Corrugated aluminum — looks very stylish, but also requires increased attention. And, of course, the price: at least $ 500 per linear meter, and the maximum is in the thousands — there are models whose facade costs 4000 USD per linear meter.

FROMmost durable, strong, moisture resistant and hygienic
WORKTOPS stainless steel and they are not much more expensive than postformed products.

Stainless steel is attached to the chipboard using «liquid nails», after which the edges are either bent on a press around the edge of the plate, or completely cover the entire plate (at the request of the customer).

The seam formed at the corner can be welded and sanded.

In addition to brushed steel, you can choose from mirrored stainless steel and sheets with a repeating decorative pattern. I recommend brushed metal — dirt is easier to remove from it than from a decorative sheet, and scratches can be sanded almost completely.

Such countertops are often exclusively rectangular. If you need a corner option, you will have to join it from two parts. They are attached to each other with small ties. A polished joint on a matte surface will be practically indistinguishable, and the product will take the form monolithic.

In terms of operation, stainless steel worktops steels are ideal: hygienic, durable, stylish, functional. On them you can without fear to put hot dishes, and scratches can be easily removed with small skins.

STONE TOP is the undisputed queen of the kitchen. It is not only pleasant to work with it, but also to take care of it: it is cleaned literally with a “light movement of the hand”.
If we talk about natural stone, then GRANITE is among the favorites. The color gamut is limited to several shades, but this «flaw» is more than covered by performance characteristics (durable, not afraid of water and temperature changes).
NUANCE: The most common damage to granite countertops is chips and scratches. The latter are easy to polish with a fine abrasive polishing paste and felt. With chips it is somewhat more difficult — you will need a putty mass for granite. The chip is closed with it, after hardening, the excess is removed with fine-grained sandpaper and polished (see above).

Marble countertops are not only expensive, but also absorb moisture. They are used mainly in old Italian pizzerias. The modern alternative is ARTIFICIAL MARBLE.

The material is based on marble chips (80%) and polyester resin (20%), can imitate the texture of malachite, jasper and other rocks.

In appearance and touch, the surface is indistinguishable from stone. Protected by a layer of transparent coating and therefore not afraid of aggressive «chemistry».

How many worked on such a countertop, I did not find any minuses, except for scratches that are easily polished.

Artificial stone of the CORIAN type and its analogues based on acrylic and minerals is a more affordable material, but it has proven itself from the best side.

Strong, durable, withstands temperatures up to +2000FROM. Easy to clean with a soft sponge dipped in detergent. Available in different designs, both texture and shape. If a chip appears, then the broken part can be glued with acrylic glue (then grinding and polishing).

Abrasives dull the surface, so they should be excluded from the list of your assistants. The knife may leave scratches — use a cutting board. After a long period of operation, the gloss may disappear. All these shortcomings are eliminated by polishing.

TILE KITCHEN has very ancient roots. This feature of the furniture is typical for authentic cuisine in the Mediterranean region.

By the way, not only countertops, but also facades are tiled with ceramic tiles. In this case, the base is made of bricks.

There are no CABINETs — only open shelves, sometimes covered with textile curtains.

As for the WORKTOP, it is not afraid of anything but strong impacts and would be as perfect as stainless steel if it were not for the seams between the tiles. They reduce the hygienic properties of the product. But, perhaps, this is the only drawback of the ceramic surface.

The hostess around the stove in one day can walk about a kilometer. And this is the case if the kitchen is organized with all the requirements of ergonomics. In order not to increase this path and make your kitchen truly comfortable, it is important to properly organize its space…

The tradition of decorating the interior floor with tiles came to us from the Mediterranean countries. Later, this practical idea “crawled” onto the walls. You may or may not like such a unique and comfortable finishing material, but it is quite difficult to completely abandon it in the interior.

Combining wallpaper in the interior space is both easy and difficult. You can do this without much knowledge and effort if you follow the proven path. Great knowledge and design skills are not needed here — only a clear understanding of the dimensions of the room and the degree of…
