The color of the interior determines its character

Perhaps I will disappoint you, the reader, but there is simply no universal formula for choosing colors for the interior.
And all because the perception of the same shade of the walls is completely different for interiors of different volumes and degrees of illumination.
In order to make the right choice of color, the designer needs to see a specific object.
Nevertheless, the “mood” and even the visual size of the interior depend on the color, therefore it is simply necessary to know the laws of psychological and optical perception of color.
You can talk about each color individually for a long time, moreover, each of them has a lot of shades, which in turn have their own character.
Therefore, I will briefly go over the “mood” that this or that color creates in rooms of different functionality.
Red, its muted shades improve well-being, raise vitality. Red in the interior is always an explosion of energy, a dominant. When overdosed, color causes a loss of individuality.
Light derivatives of red (shades of pink) develop sensuality, but when overdosed, they form an infantile character.
As you can see, red in any interpretation should be introduced into the interior carefully and thoughtfully.
Wine-colored walls will come in handy in the dining room. This subdued tone is appetizing, but not an irritant.
Red planes evoke strong emotions in the kitchen, prompting the hostess to cook vigorously and a lot.
In the bedroom, red is best used as a textile decoration or in the backlight. On the one hand, it awakens sexual energy, on the other hand, it prevents you from relaxing and falling asleep.
Perhaps the guest room can be made completely red. At first, she seems cozy and sweet, and on the third day she begins to quietly push the guests to the idea of returning to their native land.
Clean blue, its deeper tones and light shades express complete calmness, contemplation, peace, reliability. These qualities help fight insomnia, promote meditation, and relieve stress.
Therefore, blue is ideal for the bedroom (light pastel shades), creating the perfect atmosphere for immersing yourself in the realm of Morpheus.
In the living room, deep blue contrasts beautifully with the flames of the fireplace or large matte shades, symbolizing the heavenly bodies.
In the kitchen, blue is useful as an appetite suppressant (if such a function is relevant), and in the bathroom it will allow you to relax as much as possible by the light of lit candles.
magical violet, purple, fuchsia the most mysterious of the color spectrum. These are the colors of the embodiment of thoughts and fantasies into reality. It is quite difficult to decorate large planes with them, and, perhaps, it is not necessary, because an overdose can easily take you into the world of hoaxes.
But you can play with different degrees of saturation and combine with natural shades of green, yellow, orange and red indefinitely.
Imagine that one of the colors in question is a royal mantle, and all the others emphasize and ennoble it.
Approximately so much and no more should be in the interior of magic 🙂

All tones green and its derivatives express perseverance, active will, indicate high self-esteem and constancy of views. This is your psychological characteristic if you subconsciously gravitate towards these shades.
In the interior, green works a little differently, it relaxes, reduces stress due to fatigue, and relieves negative emotions. An overdose leads to the formation of a state of depression. As you can see, everything is ambiguous.
Pure green indoors is used only in small doses — as color accents. But neutral shades based on olive or khaki are the perfect backdrop for the living room walls.
Emerald and malachite — for offices and bathrooms.
Light mint will moderate the appetite of the household in the kitchen and refresh its small space.
Brown — so homely … And in fact, in psychology, this color is responsible for the physical side of life: family, friends, society, security.
People who value tradition and stability gravitate towards brown.
In the interior it is associated with respectability, but a glut of brown causes energy depletion, so you should know the measure in everything.
In one interior, you can safely apply the entire palette of this color: from diluted (cream) to rich chocolate. True, there is also a taboo: when all of the above gamut is present, pure brown should be excluded from the palette.
Neutral brown combined with gemstone colors for the living room, contrast of cream and dark wood for an appetizing kitchen, cream for the bedroom, dark wood for the office.
Yellow color in all manifestations awakens intellectual activity, physical vigor and emotional excitement. This is the most suitable color for offices, studios and other creative places.
Naturally, pure yellow is too bright to participate in the design of large planes. But it can be diluted with white or muffled with gray.
Yellow is suitable for rooms with windows to the north, it will warm the room and at the same time will not eat up space.
Yellow also has the other side of the coin — in large doses it awakens greed in a person, for this or that reason, but yellow is used in interiors in a dosed manner.
For the dining room, muted shades are more suitable, for the bedroom, light yellow spots against the background of blue or lavender will be an ideal option.
In the bathroom, you can play pranks by decorating the entire room in this sunny color.
Orange color — the sun in the interior. This is the color of communications, it is just a lifeline where it is necessary to create a trusting atmosphere and awaken spiritual uplift.
The orange color in the interior warms and, alas, eats up space a lot. So everyone’s favorite completely peach and apricot kitchens are not always in place in small rooms, if, moreover, the windows in them face south. Such already sunny corners with a small area are best decorated with shades of mint greens, and orange should be introduced as accent spots.
But in the spacious living room, orange will not let you rest, life is always seething here, communication is going on and team spirit prevails. An excellent choice of color to form a friendly family.
And for obvious reasons, orange has no place in the bedroom. It is unlikely that here it will be possible to truly relax and sleep well.
Royal white and its shades (ecru, ivory, milky) are considered to be dominant in most interior styles.
The color symbolizes purification, awakens dreaminess and enthusiasm. Therefore, it is not recommended to use it when decorating an office or a place where children do their homework.
This color is the lightest and has the maximum reflective ability, so white corrects the shortcomings of the layout and the unsuccessful arrangement of windows.
In addition to fashionable ivory, ecru, milky, the texture of pearls and light silver also belongs to white tones. Combining these several shades with each other, they get a very calm in perception, noble texture with a claim to respectability.
Radical black also has the right to be present in the interior and it plays especially effectively in small volumes of the bathroom and bathroom. The depth of this color allows you to visually enlarge an overly limited space, and the thin drawing of lines of a different color will look like floating in the air.
You can not use this color to decorate large planes in a living space, because the energy of power emanating from it in large doses can lead to the formation of a state of depression.
The exceptions are stretch ceilings with a glossy surface and walls that are painted black exclusively to emphasize the furnishings. But in these cases, in the end, black should not be the dominant color.
In other cases, black in the interior is used in the form of lines that emphasize the details of furniture and other decor. This color is ideal for fine detailing.
By the way, elegant silhouette vases, figurines and lamps will make black color as attractive and noticeable as possible.
Grey cardinal — everyone is familiar with this metaphor, but in relation to the interior it works the same way as in life (modesty, neutrality, refusal of obligations). Absolutely nothing standing out, gray is able to favorably emphasize or completely spoil any of the other colors.
You can’t pair mouse gray with muted colors, because the result is a mess of «dirty» shades.
But how wonderfully gray of any intensity emphasizes all pure shades.
And the gray texture of concrete in the interior is at the peak of its popularity.
Since gray itself is a neutral shade, it can be applied to almost any interior.

What else to read on the site:

G-shaped kitchen set (+ peninsula) — the most popular model of the kitchen. The arrangement of furniture along the interior walls in design has always been considered the most optimal for small spaces. And small kitchens — alas, are still the reality of our housing stock.

to me for some reason, it always seemed that a beautiful combination of color palettes is the result of the artist’s brilliant memory and the unrealistic talent of an interior designer. But having plunged into the world of design, it became clear that correctly placing color accents is within the power of a person, …

But really, why? Why complicate things: there is a floor — let it remain so, there is nowhere to sit — we will put an armchair, nowhere to lie down — we will buy a sofa, and how much more will fit inside it. Tired here — move to another place, is it difficult! Is it worth bothering with such a complex and stationary element at all …
