Based on what we have, it is possible to fit a maximum of furniture into a minimum of space only with the angular arrangement of the kitchen set.

MINUS any corner furniture is an inefficient use of space, however, even this moment, with an individual approach to execution, is completely solved.

There are always at least three ways out of any situation, and one more is brilliant. In relation to the kitchen, this saying is 100% true. Let’s look at all 4 solutions.

If the kitchen set is small in size, then it is easy to assume that a refrigerator and a sink will be located on one of its edges, and a hob on the other. Then for the cutting table there will be a corner and the space adjacent to it.

It is quite obvious that if you do not round the countertop (or cut off the corner), then the cook will constantly hit the kitchen furniture either with the left or with the right side.

The easiest way is to purchase a ready-made corner cabinet-table. The disadvantage of this solution is the joints of the countertop, which is solved by ordering a monolithic surface according to individual sizes.

It will be somewhat more difficult to perform (and, accordingly, more expensive) to make a curved facade of a corner cabinet. This is possible when choosing a kitchen made of wood or MDF.

You can cheat: order an ordinary corner cabinet with an inexpensive but practical laminate facade, and make the countertop cast and rounded at the corner. Such a solution will be relatively economical and most practical for corner kitchens in small or non-standard rooms.

CORNER SINKS

In a narrow and long room, the corner space most often has a sink. The inconvenience of this location option lies in the fact that the space under the sink is traditionally used for the deployment of a bucket of garbage and detergents.

With the usual wall location, there is enough free space, which, alas, is not used. A corner sink suggests the presence of even more voids.

The irrational use of space in a small kitchen is a crime against her mistress, who is forced to keep every useful decimeter of shelf space on record.

In this case, there is only one way out — an individual kitchen project, in which the walls of the cabinets adjacent to the corner sink are made in the form of a trapezoid — go to the corner. Thus, you will have additional internal space for dishes in floor cabinets.

The same elongated shape of the room may force you to place a stove with an oven or hob in the corner.

In the case of a stove-oven, everything is quite simple: just like in the version with a sink, the geometry of adjacent cabinets is changed, and a recess is cut out in the countertop to fit the size of the stove.

In the free corner that turns out to be, spices or kitchen utensils used in cooking are often placed behind the stove.

Everything is much simpler if only the hob is placed in the corner. Changing the configuration of the countertop is, of course, unavoidable, but that’s about all that’s required. The corner cabinet under the stove can have any facade. And the oven is mounted in any adjacent table-cabinet or, more conveniently, in a floor pencil case.

The angular position of the plate does not affect the choice of the shape of the hood in any way, except that it is worth clarifying before buying the method of its fastening and the possibility of mounting it in a corner.

At this point in time, such fittings are not new to the furniture market. In most cases, it is a system of retractable metal baskets designed for storing dishes and food.

When purchasing, I recommend inquiring about the reputation of the hardware manufacturer and the availability of product warranties.

Design one: corner drawers.

This version of corner cabinets, although non-standard, solves the problem of an empty corner only partially: note that in the cabinet adjacent to the left it will be possible to increase the interior space, but not in the drawers on the right.

Thus, drawers of an unusual shape solve the problem of filling empty spaces only in the case when tables-curbstones with side walls located at an angle of 135 adjoin them both on the right and on the left.⁰ .

The second design: rotating.

A rack on a bar that rotates around its axis and makes it easy to get to the farthest saucepan.

However, take a closer look at how much free space there is around the rotating shelves.

Of course, you can put something in this place, but, again, this way you use only the lower part, and the top is still «walking».

The third design: complex retractable.

Metal baskets with kitchen utensils completely fill the entire interior space. Here, special swivel joints are used, with the help of which the system, as it were, unfolds and the baskets are fully extended from the depth of the cabinet.

WHEN ORDERING A CORNER KITCHEN YOU SHOULD KNOW:

• that the floor surface must be flat and strictly horizontal, if you are not sure, give preference to models with height-adjustable screw legs;
• installation of a corner kitchen begins only from the corner and nothing else.
